Fix: Sensors not recognized by Windows (EN)
Last Updated a year ago

When you connect a sensor to your computer if nothing happen on your computer or if it shows an error saying the device is not recognized, first try to use another USB cable. Ensure the USB cable is a data and power cable. Some cables are power only, so it won't work.

After ensuring you are using the correct cable, if your Windows computer still shows the following error message "USB device not recognized", you must reinstall/change the driver of the USB controller used for the sensor.
The correct driver is WinUSB Device.

This steps can only be done with an account with administrator rights. If you have administrator rights please follow the steps below.
If you do not have administrator rights, please ask your IT department to follow the steps below with an administrator account.

  1. Connect a sensor to your computer with the USB cable
  2. On Windows, select Start
  3. Type Device Manager in the search box
  4. Then select Device Manager
  5. Expand Universal Serial Bus Device
  6. Look for a USB device with a warning triangle that appears when plugging the sensor to the computer

  17. Then on the right side under Model, select WinUSB Device
  18. Finally, click Next, then Close

If the driver WinUSB Device is not present on your computer, Windows may not be up to date. Update Windows and try to connect your sensor again.
